Dump Trailer - Keys To Using One In An Effective Manner

Blog

Dump trailers are great for hauling scraps and waste because of their hydraulic components, which tilt the trailers to aid in material removal. If you plan to use a trailer like a 7x14 dump trailer  effectively long-term, here are some actions you need to be aware of.

Keep a Safe Distance When Trailer Moves

As mentioned above, dump trailers have hydraulics that tilt the trailers upward to assist with material dumping. It's important that you stand back from the trailer when it does move upward and back down so that you don't risk getting hit.

You'll be able to stay safe as the trailer tilts upward and then moves materials out in an effective manner. You also might consider getting a dump trailer with a remote control. You can then stand far back from the trailer and still adjust the hydraulic components depending on what you want the trailer to do.

Monitor Trailer's Performance Consistently

If you want to enjoy safe and effective operation with a dump trailer for important work-related operations, then be sure to monitor its performance consistently. Every couple of weeks or so, carefully see how the trailer moves up and down when you move materials out of it.

Ideally, movement should be smooth and you shouldn't hear any loud noises. If you do, then it's a good idea to have the dump trailer inspected just in case there is a component that's damaged or faulty. You can subsequently minimize the problem's severity and thus save money on future repairs.

Have an Experienced Trailer Operator Show You the Ropes

If you want to fast-track learning with a dump trailer, then you might consider having an experienced operator show you the ropes. Then you can learn integral aspects of performance that ultimately protect you from complications. This is particularly helpful if you've never used a dump trailer before.

The experienced operator can show you how to use the trailer's controls and what to look for when the trailer tilts upward and back down. They'll also show you key maintenance protocols that can keep this trailer in great condition for years.

If you plan to buy a dump trailer and don't want to face any setbacks when you go to use it for the first time, it's key to study it and follow key protocols. Then you can easily stay safe when around this trailer and maximize its full potential.

That's Trashy... In a Good Way!

When someone says something is "trashy," they usually mean it in a negative way. But we have chosen to reclaim that word. Because we are writing a blog about garbage bins, we will hereby declare the word "trashy" to have a positive connotation. Garbage bins can get trashy because that's just what they do: hold trash. Without them, the streets would certainly be a lot messier, so in that way, we have garbage bins to thank for keeping our spaces clean. That's trashy -- in a good way. As you read this blog, we suspect you'll come to agree that being trashy is not a bad thing if you're a garbage bin.
